How Wonderful! If you're looking for a place to vacation where your dogs are more welcome than you are, and you are comfortable and the weather is beautiful and the beaches are awesome...The Lorelei in Treasure Island is the place for you! We were SO pleased when we pulled up to the hotel and saw the fence all around and the dog theme and the little fenced in "potty areas".  We were even more pleased when we met the staff and were shown our room.  The place is not fancy, but it is wonderful.  Our room was small with two twin beds, but it was perfect for us.  It was all very clean and there were tiled floors, dog bowls and dog treats.  Plus an outdoor closet with dog towels, cleanup supplies and toys, that we were all welcome to.  The gates were springloaded so they always closed and there were signs up everywhere to close the gates.  Out in the courtyard area outside our lower level room, there are two fenced in "potty areas" that are filled with gravel and a fire hydrant is in each one!  Out towards the back of the hotel, there is an additional gated area that leads to the dock, jacuzzi, and sunning area.  There is also a dog swimming area, a hose to wash your dog, a constantly filled water bowl, a shower (where I washed Toby and Elvis) and a beautiful view.  We were on the side of the island that is on Boca Ciega Bay.  Across the street from the hotel, just a few short steps away is Treasure Island beach and boardwalk.  There are beaches all up and down the coast, one more beautiful than the next. One thing we loved was that there were no crowds.  We guessed we'd picked a good time of year to go.  They said during high season it is so crowded you can't get into the restaurants.  It really couldn't have been more perfect.  I would highly recommend the Lorelei and Treasure Island, and all the other beaches in the area.  It really is a beautiful place.
